My Aunt's Garden, 2010.
70x70 cm, Diasec Prints.

My Aunt's Garden is a series constructed with the 8 mm footage from my family archive. The work questions the notions of time, place and nostalgia by playing the perception of the viewer by using photography and video at the same time. Bluring the line between the past and the present, the combination of virtual projection and real objects creates an imaginary and uncanny world with the familiarity of family scenes. These construced images are not just made by me but my mother, grandfather and maybe even the relatives I didn't have a chance to meet.
